Sharing: Eclipse Award Finalist
Sharing, Eclipse Award finalist for Two-Year-Old Filly, did her star-studded pedigree proud on the track in 2019.
A two-year-old daughter of 2004 Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) winner Speightstown out of 2010 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1) winner Shared Account, Sharing broke her maiden during the prestigious Saratoga meet on August 18. In that seven-furlong off-the-turf contest, she cruised home 6 1/2 lengths the best after contesting the lead throughout. Her next outing came September 21 at Laurel Park, where she captured the Selima S. by 2 1/2 lengths going 1 1/16 miles on the turf.
Sharing’s biggest score came on November 1 at the Breeders’ Cup at Santa Anita, where she stalked the pace for the better part of a mile before putting 1 1/4 lengths between herself and post-time favorite Daahyeh (GB) to win the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1).
Sharing won three of four starts in 2019 and earned $730,300 for owners Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners & Gainesway Stable (Antony Beck) and trainer Graham Motion.
Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners purchased Sharing for $350,000 at the 2018 Saratoga Sale, where she was consigned by Upson Downs Farm. She was bred in Maryland by Sagamore Farm.
The winners of the 2019 Eclipse Awards will be announced at Gulfstream Park on Thursday, January 23.
