Paulick Report: Grade 1 Winner Capo Bastone Sires First Foal

The first foal by Grade 1 winner Capo Bastone arrived at Y-Lo Racing Stables in Ocala, Florida on January 23. The foal is a filly out of the Speightstown mare Speightstown Girl.
“The filly has a beautiful white blaze down the middle of her face & two white socks behind just like her sire,” reported Y-Lo Racing Stables Managing Partner Lolita Raquiza. “She just breezed right through everything.”
A son of Street Boss, Capo Bastone was a leading juvenile of 2012. After a stylish maiden win at Del Mar that earned ‘Rising Star’ status from Thoroughbred Daily News, he placed in both the FrontRunner Stakes (G1) and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1). The colt then vaulted to the top of the sophomore sprint division the following season with a powerful victory in the King’s Bishop Stakes (G1) at Saratoga.
Past King’s Bishop winners include the top sires More Than Ready, Hard Spun and Tale of the Cat. 2015 champion first crop sire Uncle Mo was second in the race by a nose.
Capo Bastone stands at Adena Springs South in Williston, Florida for a stud fee of $4,000 Live Foal.
