Bossy Manhandles Foes in Maiden Special Weight in Chi-Town

Bossy, a two-year-old daughter of Street Boss, was without a doubt the boss of the field in her race at Arlington Park on Friday, September 12. Bossy stalked the leader for the opening three-eighths of a mile while nearest the rail before angling to the outside. As the field turned for home, Bossy shot to the lead opening up by four lengths before crossing the wire under restraint while clearly very much the best. Trained by Wayne Catalano and ridden by his son-in-law Channing Hill, Bossy finished second in her career debut at Arlington on August 21. Interestingly, both races were run in the rain.

Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners has had great success with this filly’s sire, Street Boss. His four-year-old son Capo Bastone won the King’s Bishop G-1 at Saratoga last year and has career earnings of $719,756. Danza, a three-year-old son of Street Boss, won the Arkansas Derby G-1 and finished third in this year’s Kentucky Derby G-1. He has career earnings of $866,428. Both of these colts were purchased by Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners as yearlings. A yearling Street Boss filly was just purchased by ETP at the Keeneland Yearling Sale this past week.
