Grade 1 SpinsterIn Lingerie was the 1st real blockbuster horse to represent the Eclipse squad. This royally-bred daughter of Empire Maker was a stealth acquisition by Eclipse and partner, Gary Barber, in the wake of a debut score in January of her sophomore season in the dead of winter at Turfway Park. That very season, In Lingerie would go on to capture the Grade 3 Bourbonette Oaks, the Grade 2 Black Eyed Susan and she achieved the ultimate success when dominating her elders in the Grade 1 Spinster at Keeneland. In Lingerie was retired after a respectable effort in the Breeders’ Cup with a bankroll of over $712,000 and in an enterprising venture, was shipped overseas to be part of an elite group of fillies to be bred to the immortal, Frankel. In November of 2013 In Lingerie became the 1st mare to be sold in foal to Frankel in North America when she commanded $2.4 million at Fasig-Tipton. In Lingerie now resides in Japan when she is an esteemed member of the Yoshida Family’s “Box of Jewels.”
