Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners Announces Charitable Partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Greater Cincinnati Affiliate for In Lingerie’s Run in the Grade II, Black Eyed Susan Stakes…

May 15, 2012, Dayton, OH: Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners announced yesterday that In Lingerie, the six-length winner of the Grade III, Bourbonette Oaks in March at Turfway Park in Northern Kentucky, has been entered in the Grade II, Black Eyed Susan Stakes this Friday at Pimlico Racetrack in Baltimore. As part of In Lingerie’s run in the Black Eyed Susan Stakes, Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners has partnered with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Cincinnati Affiliate to raise money for the organization.

With Eclipse Thoroughbred Partner’s operational offices located in Southern Ohio Eclipse believes this is a natural way to give back to an organization doing great work in the Southern Ohio region. Founded in 1997 as the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Cincinnati Race for the Cure (RFTC), the Cincinnati affiliate has grown from a RFTC event with 2,700 participants realizing an approximate $170,000 in revenue to a combined Race/Affiliate revenue of over $2.1M in FY2011. In the last 13 years, the Greater Cincinnati Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure has funded over $6.3M in programs local to Eclipse Thoroughbred Partner’s main location to address screening, education, and treatment of breast cancer.

Via this charitable partnership, a percentage of In Lingerie’s race earnings from the Black Eyed Susan Stakes will be donated directly to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Cincinnati Affiliate. Furthermore, 100% of all sales of Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners and In Lingerie merchandise sold leading up to the Black Eyed Susan Stakes will be donated to the organization. Eclipse has created a merchandising site at www.eclipsetb.com through which all sales will be donated to the charity.

Lee Midkiff, Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners’ Chairman, commented, “We are honored to be in a position for In Lingerie to run on behalf of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Cincinnati Affiliate. With our main office and support services network based in Southern Ohio, and with many of our team members having seen friends or family members affected by Breast Cancer, it’s nice to be able to give back via this unique charitable partnership with a local organization. Furthermore, with In Lingerie having scored her first win in her first start here at Turfway in January, coupled with the fact she returned to win the Bourbonette Oaks, she has a unique tie to the Cincinnati area which further solidifies our desire to give back to the local affiliate.”
