A Golden Milestone at Keeneland

Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners was honored by Keeneland on April 24 after reaching a milestone by virtue of Speed Shopper’s victory on closing day of the 2026 Spring Meet in the featured $350,000 Bewitch Stakes (G3), marking the stable’s ninth graded stakes win at the historic Lexington track. In the winner’s circle ceremony, Keeneland officials presented Eclipse with the prestigious gold tray.

The achievement places Eclipse among a select group of fewer than 30 owners to reach that milestone at Keeneland, underscoring the stable’s sustained success at one of racing’s most prestigious venues.

Eclipse Founder & President Aron Wellman, along with Kelsey Marshall Hughes, Sean Tugel, and Joel Cunningham, were on hand to accept. Following the winner’s circle presentation, Keeneland President & CEO Shannon Arvin hosted the Eclipse team for a champagne toast in the track’s famed Director’s Room to commemorate the occasion.

“We’re beyond humbled and honored to earn a gold tray from Keeneland,” said Wellman. “It always starts with the horses—In Lingerie, Valiance, Current, Speech, Nest, Blame Debbie, Candied, Locked, Speed Shopper—along with our trainers and their staffs, our fearless jockeys, every partner who puts their faith in the baby blue & black, our unbeatable Eclipse staff, and our confidant Mike Levy who has been there every step of the way.”

For Eclipse, the recognition reflects not only the quality of horses campaigned, but also the collective effort of its partners, trainers, jockeys, and staff who have contributed to the stable’s continued success at the highest levels of the sport.
