Grade 1 Ashland StakesSpeech was plucked from the OBS March Two Year Old in Training Sale by Eclipse for $190,000. A dominating 9-length winner in her 2nd career start, Speech was never out of the money in her first 8 career starts for Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners and trainer Michael McCarthy. Capturing the Grade 1 Ashland Stakes at Keeneland Racecourse, Speech also had Graded placings in the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks and Grade 2 Santa Anita Oaks. Speech was sold privately following her career and now resides in Japan during her broodmare career.
