#EclipseFillies continue to ‘warm’ up graded stakes on big days

Fresh off a strong and well-represented Kentucky Derby and Oaks week at Churchill Downs, Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners rolls straight into Preakness weekend looking to continue its graded stakes success on another major stage in 2026.

Fittingly, it will be the well-traveled Warming tasked with carrying the stable’s hot streak into the $150,000 Gallorette Stakes (G3) on May 15 at Laurel Park—a home-game appearance for the graded stakes-winning chestnut on Maryland’s biggest racing day of the year.

Trained by Graham Motion, Warming will make the short trip from her Fair Hill base to Laurel, where she is set to compete at the eighth racetrack of her career in just her 11th lifetime start. The adaptable 4-year-old daughter of Global Campaign has already proven herself at this level, highlighted by her victory in last fall’s Autumn Miss Stakes (G3) at Santa Anita over one mile on turf.

Hall of Fame rider John Velazquez—already aboard recent #EclipseFillies graded stakes winners Speed Shopper and Classic Q on back-to-back weekends in Kentucky—once again has the mount after the pair teamed up for an on-the-board finish in the Latonia Stakes on Turfway’s Polytrack.

The Gallorette marks a return to the grass following three starts on dirt and synthetic surfaces for Warming, whose last turf appearance resulted in that Grade 3 triumph at Santa Anita. Turf was where she first made her mark, beginning her career with seven consecutive starts on grass, including a debut victory as a juvenile in New York. In her only prior attempt at the Gallorette’s 1 1/16-mile distance on turf, she defeated allowance company at Delaware Park last summer in a performance that hinted at bigger things to come.

Drawn in post four in a field of eight, Warming has never finished worse than fifth in six stakes appearances on turf or synthetic, compiling a résumé that includes a graded stakes victory, three stakes placings, and several game efforts against quality company.

Acquired for $100,000 by the Eclipse team at the 2024 OBS March Sale, Warming has already banked $236,450 during her young career. With another graded opportunity awaiting on Preakness Day, she looks poised to further add to her growing résumé.
